Having internal power would definately fix the ugly problem my mouse has. But if the power is inside then you would probably want a switch to turn the rumble off when you're not playing a game. They would probably have a power supply (batteries) easily tappable. <BR/><BR/>They might be more packed and adding a motor would certainly sap the batteries quickly. I don't really know much about the USB standard, so I did this project the easy (but not as cool) way of attaching the battery. If I make any more, it will be through the USB power. you can consider this version the proof of concept. Yeah the battery added a little extra weight to the mouse trying to move it and all but for the most part I adapted nicely to it.
